Gluckhaus (House of Fortune)

Gluckhaus Board
Gluckhaus Game board - Design based on Henry VIII and family.

Gluckhaus is an easy dice game with very little strategy involved. The rules were relatively easy which makes this a wonderful game to pass the time with while conversing. The players take turns rolling two dice. Depending on what was rolled depicted which action was taken.

3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 - If this number is empty you place a token or coin in it. If there is something already occupying it you are able to take the item in the square.

If you roll a two, which is known as the "Lucky Pig" you are able to collect everything off the board except the wedding.

If you roll a 7 also known as the "Wedding". You must put something into the wedding square.

If you roll a twelve, also known as the King, you gather everything including the wedding off of the board, since nothing is ever denied a "King"

If you roll a four, you lose your turn.

The typical game board is setup in almost a hopscotch pattern with no square for 4.

I have taken liberties with the above board, and made them circular, numbering 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, & 11 and the King as square 12. When people roll a 7 on this board they pay directly to the King.
